Attack while going to tuition
Uppala Amarnath Goud, a Class 10 student (age reported as 14 by ETV Bharat, 15 by India TV) from Rajavolu village, Cherukupalli mandal, was set ablaze near Redlapalem at ~5:30 AM while cycling to tuition. Locals doused the fire and rushed him to Guntur GGH; Cherukupalli sub-inspector arranged the ambulance and accompanied him.
Dying declaration names Venkateshwar Reddy; victim succumbs
Amarnath told police in his dying declaration that Pamu Venkateswar Reddy and others torched him. SP Vakul Jindal confirmed the dying declaration will be presented before the court as key evidence.
Police arrest A1–A3; SP rules out political motive; families are daily-wage labourers
Deccan Chronicle records that SP Vakul Jindal ruled out any political differences between the two families and stated both families are daily wage labourers. SP refutes allegations; Vemuru CI named Special Investigation Officer
In a formal statement Deccan Chronicle archived, SP Vakul Jindal refuted political allegations against police. He stated Vemuru circle inspector was appointed as Special Investigation Officer on the suggestion of the complainant (mother of deceased). He confirmed the Clues team examined the crime scene and all physical evidence collected scientifically is being presented before court so the accused receive appropriate punishment.
Government compensation reported; TDP protests across state
An ETV AP video title reports a minister handed over a Rs 10 lakh cheque to the family. Separately, TDP leaders held protests and dharnas across AP over the Amarnath murder. BC Samkshema Sangam (BC Welfare Association) also participated in protests, reflecting the community's identity as BC-Goud.

The ETV AP video description (Telugu, L8) records that four months post-murder: (1) justice had not come; (2) government leaders promised conviction in 40 days — unmet; (3) accused obtained bail and were roaming freely (దర్జాగా తిరుగుతున్నారు); (4) main accused Venkateswar Reddy allegedly threatening the family to withdraw the case (బెదిరిస్తున్నారు); (5) family demanding death sentence. The bail-granting court and order date are not named in this source.
TDP minister raises case in AP legislature; no conviction reported
Andhrajyothy (4 March 2025) reports that TDP Minister Nara Lokesh challenged YSRCP leaders in the AP legislature, invoking the Amarnath Goud murder to question the previous government's record on BC welfare. No conviction or trial outcome was mentioned in the report, consistent with the absence of any such record in national press as of May 2026.
