India LCV company announced
Isuzu said it would establish an India company in Chennai in August 2012 to develop the light commercial vehicle business, with sales from Thailand-sourced vehicles and KD kits planned before the end of 2012.
Isuzu Motors India established
The later plant-opening release lists 21 August 2012 as the establishment date of Isuzu Motors India Private Limited.
India sales begin with imported models
Isuzu said it had started selling D-MAX and MU-7 vehicles by importing complete built-up vehicles, with its sales network beginning from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Agreement with Andhra Pradesh and Sri City land
Isuzu announced an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to start LCV manufacturing operations and said it had acquired 430,000 square metres of land in Sri City.
Sri City manufacturing plant opened
Isuzu Motors India opened its Andhra Pradesh LCV manufacturing plant, with company leadership and the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister attending the ceremony.
